e've all seen this image, whether it be on a gut-wrenching reproduction, in a history book or on the internet, but now you will have a chance to see it up close and personal! Katsushika Hokusai's amazing creation 'Under the Wave off Kanagawa' or 'Great Wave' from 1830/33 will be available to view at Chicago's Art Institute thanks to the Clarence Buckingham Collection starting April 6th 2019. If you are an Illinois resident you can go to the Art Institute on Thursdays for free between 5pm-8pm, which is nice for those of us who have to work.
